April began decorating cakes in 1999. She took Wilton Courses 1, 2, and 3, and the Masters Course at the Wilton School of Cake Decorating. She has also been trained in gumpaste, fondant, and confections at the the Wilton school. She has taken classes on gumpaste and fondant from Collette Peters of Collette's Cakes in New York. Although April made wedding cakes for six years, she now has two boys and loves to make birthday cakes instead. April considers herself a cake decorating nerd and is always looking for ways to help others love cake decorating like she does.
