Barney Northrop was born and raised in Cache Valley. He got bit by the food bug early on. With farm to table being the latest trend. it definitely speaks to him, and does not seem so new, as he comes from a large family that relied on their garden to feed them throughout the long Utah winter.
Now in Barney's 18th year in the kitchen, he's learned much about food, gardening, technique, and business. His love of food grows daily he pushs himself to constantly be learning something new.
He is currently Head Chef at Herm's Inn. His previous experience includes Executive Chef of : Blackckstone, Hamilton's Steak and Seafood (both in Logan) Lugano Restaurant (Salt Lake City), Sous Chef of Dashi (Sun Valley, Idaho), Tsunami Restaurant (Salt Lake City), and many years of line cook, prep cook, and barista experience.
