Raised in the great plains of Northern India, Ash discovered a passion for cooking at an early age in his mother's kitchen. The complexity and diversity of spices encouraged him to learn more. He furthered his hobby by helping with a family catering business before life took him on a worldwide journey to nearly 50 countries as a sailor. The experiences and influences of diverse cultures inspired him to pursue a culinary career, becoming a master of Indian, Greek, Italian, American and Chinese cuisines. After settling in Utah in 1981, Ash began working in the restaurant business. He opened his first restaurant in 1989. Demonstrating great skill with every fare, Ash finally decided it was time to share the aromatic cuisine of his homeland. The Indian Oven is the result, with full-service casual dining, a wide range of menu choices, affordability and atmosphere.
